Bio-C2G Model and Feedstock to Function Tool

Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory

Description

Bio-C2G is a lightweight, flexible biositing model capable of quantifying production costs, life-cycle emissions, water use, other relevant metrics for a hypothetical facility with identified organic/biomass feedstocks. The Feedstock to Function Tool is a database and machine learning tool for predicting chemical properties of high-potential biofuels and bioproducts.

Capability Bounds

These tools are intended to provide decision support for bioproducts and bioprocesses at early stages of development and exploration.

Unique Aspects

User-friendly tools to gain insights into potential fuels and products, along with an understanding of facility siting to meet process needs. Data from various sources is aggregated and made accessible for analysis.

Availability

Tools are freely available for use at lead.jbei.org. Engagement with principals is ad hoc and requires direct coordination.

Benefit

These tools provide decision support in early stages of product or process development. They aim to reach a broad audience of executives, researchers, communities, and others in the bioeconomy.
