Description

Integrated 1-tonne/day pilot plant for biomass pretreatment, deconstruction, enzymatic hydrolysis (4 x 2,000 liter paddle reactors), and fermentation (4 x 9,000 liter fermenters). Unit operations for feed pre-processing and downstream separations are also included.

Capability Bounds

Maximum throughput 1 tonne/day; can be operated at smaller scale.

Unique Aspects

Pilot facility for production of biofuels and bio-based products from lignocellulosic biomass and other renewable feedstocks.
